Stripped

You have stripped everything away from me
and left me naked for all to see
You hoped this will make me weak and
I will run back to you.

As I stand here, I realize this is me,
with no disguises, my faults and scars
no longer hidden
I am not perfect, and neither are you.

You have stripped me down naked to
make me need you
I know what I put on my body
will be my choice from now on.

What you stripped me of was your
toxins that seeped into me long ago.

My body is beautiful and my soul
is pure once again.
