Set in Stone

During the day’s I sit posed – Watching

At night my outer self falls away, I spread my wings
and take flight over the city and become
one with the darkness.

I am like other creatures of the night.

What you see in the daylight, you would fear
in the shadows of the night.

I am not evil.

I am the guardian in stone.

The Page

Flickr Karasu_13th

A rose marks the page, my words
have faded over time, the pages have yellowed
and are worn from being read over and over again.

Every time you open this page
the rose is new just like my love for you.

Love is a journey beginning with a rose bud
and becoming a bouquet.

Thorns run up and down their stems
watch where you place your fingers
you will bleed and so will your heart.

My rose marks your page always. ❀

Paper

slideshare violet manishak

A crumbled piece of paper
will not make life’s problems go away.

Torn pages will not do the same thing.

So, flatten back out that piece of
paper you crumpled up.

If getting rid of something or someone was
as easy as crumpling a piece of paper
and tossing it on the floor.

We would see no ground anymore and we’d be drowning
in crumpled pieces of paper everywhere.

The Gutted Spirit

wallalphcoders by Smaug_is_Death

Everything looks so perfect
undisturbed on the outside.

But if you venture into the inner layers.

There are parts bare, fragile and will
disintegrate at a moment’s touch.

What we see on the outside,
sometimes gives us no clue
to what lies within the fight we have
upon us.

You are

Image weddingbee.com

You are unique.
One of a kind.
Set yourself off from the rest.
Be who you are supposed to be.

Not what others think you should.
Show not just tell how strong
you are.

Love yourself and make yourself happy,
than you can be for someone else.

You are the only one with the power
to make it happen.
Don’t wait till it’s too late.

The power of YOU is within
don’t wait, don’t wait!

I Feel

Flickr Shirley Niedzwiecki

I feel your presence thou I can not
hear you breathing.
There is a chill in the night air
but I cannot feel it.
Nature is all quiet around me and waits.
The wind picks up and blows
my hair in my face.
If you were standing in front of me
I could not see your beautiful face.
I am blind and cannot see
my eyes are forever closed.

The Bridge

The bridge to the other side.
It used to be so easy to cross
you just never looked down.
Because you might fall and disappear
into the water below.
But over time it has fallen apart
like the lives that have crossed and left those behind.
Winter has come again to the bridge
some say it’s to freedom.
But most who have crossed have never called
so, some say it might be hell.

Old and Tattered

Deviantart Mr. Motts

What a waste!

To some it’s just and old building
in desperate need of repair.

I see an old soul
who has weathered whatever
was thrown its way.

Hope, promises, love and grief
has passed through this building
down that aisle and have made it
to the other side.

This will be a place of peace, love and
hope once again.

This is the house of memories
to all that have passed through
its doors.

I always thought it would be cool to turn
an old building into a loft. Taking something
old and tattered and bring it back to life.
